How MerchDesk decides what goes into Bestsellers, Trending and New Arrivals, and who controls the sort order.
Bestsellers
Your top-selling products, ranked by units sold over a recent period. As sales change, products move up, down or out of the collection on each refresh.
Trending
Products whose recent sales are up compared with the period before. Trending has a minimum bar, so a product that sold once doesn’t jump in just because it sold nothing the week before.
A new store, or a quiet stretch, can leave Trending short or empty. That’s expected: it fills as sales pick up.
New Arrivals
Products created in your store within the number of days you choose. Products leave the collection once they’re older than that.
Sort order
Each collection has an order setting:
- Set by this app. MerchDesk sorts the collection, for example best-selling first. If you reorder products by hand in Shopify, the next refresh puts them back.
- Controlled by you. MerchDesk only changes which products are in the collection. Your manual order stays as you set it.
Reading the refresh summary
After each refresh, MerchDesk shows what changed: products added, removed and skipped, and why.
You may also see products kept in the collection even though they slipped just below the cut. That’s on purpose, so the collection doesn’t reshuffle over small day-to-day changes.
