Your data and uninstalling

What EventDesk stores about your store and your attendees, and what happens when you uninstall.

What EventDesk stores

  • Your events, sessions and settings
  • For each ticket: the order number, the buyer’s name and email, the attendee name entered at checkout, and check-in times
  • A log of ticket emails and whether they arrived
  • Scanner links for your door staff. Each link is stored encrypted so you can show it and its QR code again. Its PIN is kept only as a one-way hash, so it’s shown once and replaced with New PIN if it’s lost.

EventDesk doesn’t read your customer list and doesn’t sell your data or share it for advertising. The full details are in the EventDesk privacy policy.

Removing attendee details

Attendee names and email addresses are removed 30 days after each session ends. The ticket itself stays, without the personal details, so your sales and check-in counts still add up. Change the number of days (1 to 365) in Settings > Customer data.

Where it’s kept

Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Fly.io in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest. Emails are sent through Resend.

When you uninstall

Ticket pages and door scanner links stop working as soon as EventDesk is uninstalled, so don’t uninstall before your last session. Shopify asks EventDesk to erase your store’s data 48 hours later, and everything is then deleted. Your event products stay in your store as ordinary Shopify products.

When a customer asks you to erase their data, EventDesk removes their name and email. Their upcoming tickets stay valid.

Ask for a copy or a deletion

When a customer asks for their data through Shopify, EventDesk emails the store owner a copy of what it holds so you can pass it on. To request an export of your store’s data, or deletion without uninstalling, contact us from the store owner’s email address.
